Feixia Yu received the Preston Covid Hero Mayor’s Award after helping people improve their well-being and mental health throughout the pandemic.
Feixia has taken nearly 300 completely free online wellness courses since the first lockdown in early April 2020.
Initially, these classes were daily for 100 consecutive days, and later increased to two or three times a week for the benefit of participants in Preston.

Felixia wanted to connect with people living alone, and did so successfully, hence obtaining her award.
Felixia said: “I am very honored and grateful for the recognition, not only for the work I have done, but also for the physical and mental benefits for the participants.
“It’s nice to see people take the opportunity to practice with me in their own space.
“I think my free online classes make participants feel like they’re taking control of their own health: free classes, no travel time, no fees or parking worries, and all in the comfort of their own space.
“I am very grateful to all of the participants. Their business keeps me going when I’m feeling lazy, and they keep me on my toes, so I have to train every day and constantly improve my own training.
