The new date will uphold the Broughton Mosque’s appeal decision

The coming new year will confirm whether the proposed plans to build the Broughton Mosque will go ahead or not, a date for the decision was released recently.


Cassidy + Asthon’s application, seeking approval for a new place of worship on land south of D’Urton Lane, has prompted a mix of responses within the Broughton community, since plans were submitted in 2021.

A government decision will be made no later than Monday, January 30, 2023, as to what will happen to the site.

Earlier this year in February Preston City Council approved plans for the “Brick Veil Mosque” moving forward.

Shortly after, on Tuesday April 5, the government called in the planning application for the building.
