The Barton Manor Hotel will host a charity ‘Glitter Ball’ in September

A Preston resident hosted a charity “Glitter Ball” with a DJ and a three-course meal at a local hotel to raise money for MIND.

On September 9, Carly Keighley from Preston will host the event at the Barton Manor Hotel, with guests invited to participate in a raffle and board games to benefit MIND, a charity dear to Carly.

Tickets are £40 (or £37.50 if you book a table of 8-10), with a ‘deliberately unplanned’ auction so customers don’t feel pressured to spend big bucks in the middle of the cost of living crisis.

Carly said: “I planned it as a big party with a DJ and festival-style face glitter. I think we all deserve a brilliant evening after the last two and a half years.

“I would love to sell more tickets to make this an even bigger (hopefully annual) event to raise more money for a much needed charity.”

Guests must register by September 2, and Lancashire Life will also be on hand to take photos of the ball.

Carly ‘jogs, walks and hobbles’ the Great North Run on 9/11 to raise money for the charity.

Carly said: “I say hobble because I accidentally dropped a bookcase on my foot six weeks ago damaging my ligaments which interrupted training.”
