Preston Police say goodbye to Avenham’s retired support officer
Lancashire Constabulary honored an Avenham PCSO who retired after serving for 14 years.

PCSO Barbara Gornall hung up her bike helmet for the last time yesterday (Sunday, December 5) as she retired ahead of her 69th birthday next year.

Preston Police Chief Inspector Azz Khan said: “Barbara has been a familiar sight in the Avenham area for fourteen years.
“Her hard work was evident in building bridges with the local community, and she will be sorely missed.
“On behalf of the Lancashire Police, I would like to convey our thanks for his years of service and wish him the best in his retirement.”

In a Facebook post, Preston Police said: ‘Barbara, to all your friends and colleagues in Preston and beyond, thank you for your compassionate and efficient service to the people of Lancashire and the Lancashire Police.
“We will miss you and wish you a happy and healthy retirement! “
