Preston entrepreneur recognized for his work with the World Youth Parliament

An entrepreneur from Preston has been recognized for her work with the Global Youth Parliament.


Jodie Marie Rigby was appointed over a year ago to be the UK National Coordinator for the Global Youth Parliament, after attending a leadership conference in the Maldives in 2021. She is now the head of the Youth Parliament in the UK.

After traveling to Nepal in November 2021 with Parliament, Vice President of Nepal Nanda Kishor Pun presented him with a Global Youth Leadership Award.

This year, Jodie will travel to Bangkok to represent the UK and meet coordinators from other countries around the world.

They will meet in the United Nations hall in the city and Jodie will receive a global youth leadership award for 2022.

The aim of the Youth Parliament is to inspire young people between the ages of 16 and 35 to become entrepreneurs and better leaders.

73 countries have youth parliaments and they bring citizens together to come together for the annual World Youth Parliament conference once a year.

Jodie said: “I look forward to representing my country in Bangkok on the international stage and hope to inspire young people to join Parliament as future leaders.”
