Preston and Kirkham duo walk for Space Center Preston funds

Richard Wardell and Mark Brown

Two local fundraisers will undertake a 224-mile walk from Blackpool to Buckingham Palace to raise money for charity and a local non-profit organization.

During the second week of August, Richard Wardell from Kirkham and Mark Brown from Preston will attempt the feat in five to six days to raise funds for Cancer Research and Space Center Preston.

The couple are aiming to raise £20,000 for the two causes and have launched ‘Black2Buck’ JustGiving and Facebook pages to collect donations.

The couple said: “About three months ago we promised each other that we were going to do something amazing this summer, and we want you to be a part of it too.

“Hopefully you’ll see where you might fit in one of the bravest (and probably dumbest) challenges two normal guys from the North West could take on in three months of training.”

“We would love for you to be part of our story which we hope will become a local legend.”
