Nightingale nurse badge stolen over Christmas time

A Nightingale badge was stolen in a break-in at a house in Fulwood over Christmas time.

Police are calling for help in locating the badge, which is recognized around the world as a symbol of excellence in nursing care.

A spokesperson for Preston Police said: ‘The badge is being given to trained nurses at St Thomas’ Hospital and bears a picture of Florence Nightingale.

“It is considered to be a fairly rare item in Lancashire and is also engraved with the name of the owner.”

A 9-karat gold brooch and ring were also stolen during the heist.

Anyone with information on the location of the property should call 101 quoting LC-20211 228-0352. Alternatively, information can be shared anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
