K-Devices TATAT offers an abundance of creative inspiration, all based on mood.

And we’re not talking about your mood. Specifically, TATAT by K-Devices will create an endless stream of notes and sequences based on the “mood” you compose!

K TATAT devices

TATAT by K-Devices is a creative plugin designed to inspire you as to where your melodies and chords can go. Playing around with the plugin settings, you can expect an endless stream of ever-changing footage.

K-Devices states that the plug-in has 3 main purposes: “to create ever-changing sequences, quickly sketch and store musical ideas, and add unexpected events to still patterns”.

A set of parameters labeled as “mood” determine the behavior of TATAT. Specifically, layer and combine a total of three different time signatures for polyrhythmic patterns!

And you can set probabilities for four different notes in the Pitch section, and you can also randomize the notes themselves.

The Bichords section determines the probability that TATAT’s internal engine will also trigger particular intervals. Then the Process section lets you experiment with MIDI velocities, note lengths and delays – all with randomization too.

As a result, you will get a sequence of notes based on musical parameters that you have defined.

The user interface of TATAT by K-Devices is customizable, available in dark or light themes.

From there you can freeze the contents of the buffer as a static template and then shuffle between that and the live stream. And the export function is as simple as it gets: just export as many variations as you want by dragging and dropping them onto tracks, clip slots or folders in your favorite DAW software.

Once you have a “mood” you like, you can:

  • enjoy the ever-changing stream of notes
  • enable “thru” to add the generative flow of notes to the top of a fixed MIDI clip/file or live MIDI input
  • inject stability using the horizontal LIV/MEM slider that blends between the live generated stream and a frozen pattern
  • Drag and drop the sequence onto tracks, clip slots or folders in your DAW

Price and compatibility

TATAT is already available as Max For Live Device, but is now available to all DAW users for an introductory price of $19 until July 30, when the price will drop to $19.

Available in VST3 and AU formats, TATAT is compatible with macOS (including M1 support) and Windows.
