Inquiry continues into fire at two homes in Penwortham

Dozens of firefighters attended a fire on the ground floor of two properties in Penwortham.


Crews were called out at 00.22am on Saturday February 26 with five fire engines from Penwortham, Preston and Bamber Bridge attending.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used three hose reels and a ventilation unit to fight the blaze at Mark Close near Leyland Road – between Penwortham and Lostock Hall.

No casualties were reported and several nearby properties were briefly evacuated at the time.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is currently underway.
