Spotify has stepped up its efforts to make it easy for artists to help Ukraine, using the artist fundraising choice on your music profile.
The war in Ukraine has moved the world to action. Big companies have looked for ways to sanction Russia and help Ukrainian refugees, while making it easy for their users to show their support. Now Spotify has also suggested ways artists can help Ukraine.
Spotify artists can use Spotify for Artists’ Artist Fundraising Pick feature to raise funds for Ukraine. The Artist Fundraising Pick can be used as an additional revenue stream for artists, but it’s also an easy way for your fans to support a charity of your choice.
The fundraising site GoFundMe brought together verified charities in a Ukrainian hub. All artists have to do is select a fundraising destination to sit at the top of their Spotify profile, so listeners can easily donate. Spotify will not take a share of the donations.
How does Spotify show its support for Ukraine?
As the world reacts to the atrocities, Spotify has introduced its own sanctions against Russia. Sputnik and RT content has been removed from Spotify in the EU and other regions.
