Four arrested after man stabbed to death in Ribbleton

A murder investigation is underway following the death of a man in Ribbleton today (Friday July 8).


Two 16-year-old boys and an 18-year-old woman, all from Preston, along with an 18-year-old man from Blackpool, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are in police custody.

Police were called at around 6.25pm ​​to Raikes Road after a report of an assault.

Emergency services attended the scene with a man in his 20s found stabbed in the chest. He was treated by paramedics and taken to Royal Preston Hospital, but sadly died later.

An investigation is ongoing and inquiries are ongoing.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and urging anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Inspector Simon Challenger, of Lancashire Police, said: ‘These are absolutely tragic circumstances and my thoughts are with the man’s family at this very difficult time.

“Although we have made a number of arrests, it is absolutely vital that we speak to all witnesses.

“We believe the attack took place in the street and was seen by a number of people. Although we have spoken to some people, I would encourage anyone with information, who has not yet spoken to our agents, to come forward.

“It is crucial that we piece together what happened.

“Patrols have been stepped up in the area and our investigation is ongoing.”
