Caritas Care community center in Plungington to undergo repairs

Improvement works are underway as part of the project

Places for People and Morris & Spottiswood have joined forces on a project that will make a huge difference to the Caritas Care Community Center in Plungington, Preston.


The couple invested in energy efficiency and improvement work at the center, undertaking a mix of internal and external repairs and redecorations.

These include new LED lighting in the lobby, cafe and meeting rooms – a feature that will lower utility bills and improve energy efficiency in facilities.

A vital community facility, the Caritas Community Center is a thriving community center that hosts a wide range of classes, groups and meetings for local residents.

It also operates a food bank and cafe, which encourage social contact, especially for those who found themselves alone or isolated during the pandemic.

It receives over 20,000 visitors a year, but finding money for repairs is always a challenge.
