Finally, the TVS Jupiter 125 is expected to launch in India today. For years, the Jupiter has been the mainstay of the TVS scooter line, having maintained a vise-like grip on second place on India’s best-selling scooter list. Being second behind the incredibly popular Honda Activa, the Jupiter has been updated with new features over time, but so far is only available in 110cc. As the market moves towards larger capacity scooters, now is the time for the arrival of the TVS Jupiter 125, which will rival popular offerings from Honda, Suzuki and Hero MotoCorp.
At the moment, not much is known about the Jupiter 125, but a teaser confirms that the scooter with the bigger heart will be equipped with LED daytime running lights integrated into the apron. Expect to see the same 125cc three-valve engine that powers the Ntorq 125, in perhaps a slightly different tuning state, along with Bluetooth connectivity and a few other segment-exclusive features.
The Jupiter 125 will compete with the Honda Activa 125, Suzuki Access 125, Yamaha Fascino 125, Honda Grazia and Hero Destini. The prices should be a little higher than the prices of the 110 cc model, which currently range from Rs 65 to 75,000 (ex-showroom).
